Even though unfortunately most people tend to overlook Mahe Island in favour of Praslin Island and the North Island, Mahe has so much to offer. It has a varied history of early French settlers, refuge for escaped prisoners, a whaling base, National Youth Service base and now finally a hotel. Back on Mahe Island you can enjoy some snorkeling on Anse Major Beach with a picnic lunch on the beach.
