Situated along the Lake Victoria, Entebbe is a town of importance in Uganda, which houses the international airport. It is famous for the 1976 commando raid on the hijacked Air France plane that was rescued and the mostly Jewish hostages freed. The official residence of the President of Uganda is also located here, picturesquely on a hill overlooking the centre of the town.
